How much more successful could you be when you know how to thrive in one of the most dynamic, complex and promising markets in the world?
China has always been a mystery to the businesses of the West. We are just now learning how different our cultures are and how difficult it can be to conduct business overseas. Indeed! The business program consists of four key components:
- Company Seminars
- On-Site Study Trips
- Business Salons
Hear about the business world from the world itself. Hand-selected business professors from China’s leading Business and Economics University will present a series of lectures that explore a variety of topics, to help give you a background of China’s business policies. The topics range from China's unique business practices, its economic, political and legal framework, to its management style. The lectures review China’s economic development, examining historical events such as the Cultural Revolution that impacted its growth.
We bring the companies to you. We have arranged for executives and plant managers of leading foreign companies operating in China to come to you. They will present a series of presentations designed to provide you with further information on the expatriate business community. The seminars highlight the different forms of foreign investment in China, the various company practices and operations that exist, and the numerous management styles and marketing strategies employed by the companies. As executives and plant managers, the speakers have years of hands-on experience and offer a variety of tips and strategies to help you navigate your way through the business world in China.
Onsite Study Trips
Experience the business world and see China’s policies and procedures in action. Visit several of China’s major international corporations that operate joint ventures or are wholly owned operations. Each visit consists of a short overview of the company’s policies and operations, a tour of the facilities, and where applicable, product sampling. You will have a chance to pull back the curtain and observe various operating standards including quality control, health and safety standards, employee training protocols, and manufacturing facilities.
RWC’s unique business salons is an excellent opportunity for you to network with successful, local and international entrepreneurs and young professionals. The locations will be ideal for conversations and the atmosphere will be relaxed, in order to allow you the opportunity to meet potential business partners, associates or friends. Who knows? You might meet your future marketing manager or investment partner.
Generally, in order to ensure your Mandarin skills are developed in the best possible way, the classes have been divided into the five key language developing areas: reading, writing, listening, speaking (oral), and grammar.
Reading: Classes will focus on building vocabulary and strengthening reading comprehension, with a focus on accuracy and speed.
Writing: Classes will introduce and develop the composition of characters and stroke orders of radicals, or
Listening: Classes will focus on improving listening comprehension of spoken Mandarin at regular speed. At the beginner level the primary focus will be understanding basic facts; at the advanced level the primary focus will be developing implicit comprehension and drawing inferences from complicated passages.
Speaking (Oral): Classes will facilitate the development of proper pronunciation and intonation, and will help students recognize common stress patterns in Mandarin.
Grammar: Classes will introduce and develop proper sentence structure, word order, spelling and colloquial expressions.
